Ministry of Ayush Considers New PG Courses in Homeopathy

New Delhi, August 14, 2025 — The Ministry of Ayush has acknowledged suggestions for the introduction of new postgraduate (PG) courses in the field of Homeopathy.

In a letter dated August 14, 2025, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Secretary, conveyed to Dr. Y.M. Salmani of the Ayush Medical Society, Azamgarh, that the proposal for starting advanced PG courses is under consideration. The suggested courses include MD in Pathology, MD in Radiology, MS in Surgery, MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MS in Orthopedics, and MCh in Plastic Surgery within the Homeopathy stream.

The letter, issued with the approval of the competent authority, also references earlier communications — a Ministry of Ayush letter dated July 24, 2025, and a submission from Dr. Salmani dated June 26, 2025.

Copies of the communication have been circulated to the Chairman of the National Homoeopathy Commission, the Chairman/Member of the Homoeopathy Education Board, and an Under Secretary in the Ministry of Ayush.

If approved, these courses could mark a significant expansion in Homeopathy education and training, potentially opening new avenues for specialization and practice.
