Treat Amenorrhea With Homeopathic Remedies

Amenorrhea is an absence of the menstrual flow occurring at any time between puberty and the menopause, except during pregnancy and lactation, when such a condition is physiological.

Amenorrhea occurs in two forms :

1. Primary Amenorrhea – Those cases where menstruation has never occurred.
2. Secondary Amenorrhea – Those in which it has ceased after having been established.

Etiology :

1. Absence of uterus or ovaries
2. Uterine atrophy
3. Cystic degeneration of both ovaries
4. Atony from mental depression
5. Atony from constitutional diseases, as phthisis, etc.

Symptoms :

Amenorrhea itself is a symptom.  Acute suppression may give rise to symptoms such as – backache, heaviness, pelvic pains, etc.

The Homeopathic remedies most often called for are as follows :-

Pulsatilla –

Anemia. First menses delayed ; menses late, scanty, and of short duration ; suppressed from getting the feet wet ; leucorrhea like cream or milk ; pain shift from part to part ; constant chilliness.

Sepia –

Menses late and scanty ; leucorrhea before the menses, like milk, excoriating ; uterine displacement ; bearing down pains ; weakness and tired pain in small of back.

Phosphorus –

Amenorrhea with blood spitting, or hemorrhage from the nose, anus or urethra ; especially in tall, slender patients .

Cimicifuga –

Menses irregular, delayed or suppressed ; ovarian irritation ; uterine cramps ; bearing down in uterine region ; suppression from cold or emotions ; more generally useful in all classes of amenorrhea than any other remedy.

Graphites –

First menses delayed, or disturbances at the menopause. “Graphites is in climax what pulsatilla is in youth”. Menses late, scanty and pale ; pain in epigastrium as if everything would be torn to pieces ; inclined to obesity ; induration of ovaries.

Ignatia –

Menses suppressed from grief or suppressed mental suffering ; frequent sighing ; brooding over her troubles ; sensation of weakness ; hysteria.
