Muratic acidum

Word Mnemonic – MURIATIC

M – Malignant mouth ulcers

→ Deep, perforating ulcers with black base, foul odor, seen in diphtheria, scarlatina, cancer.

U – Unconscious with muttering

→ In typhoid states; patient appears unconscious but mutters or moans.

R – Rectal weakness

→ Hemorrhoids swollen, blue, extremely sensitive; prolapse during urination.

I – Involuntary stool

→ Stool passes while urinating or passing flatus.

A – Asthenic state (extreme weakness)

→ Profound debility; slides down in bed.

T – Tongue paralyzed

→ Dry, shriveled, leather-like tongue, difficulty speaking.

I – Intestinal ulceration

→ Ulcers with pseudo-membranous deposits in intestinal tract.

C – Cannot bear touch

→ Extreme sensitivity; cannot tolerate even bed-sheet touching genitals or hemorrhoids.

Keynotes of Muriaticum Acidum

🔑 1. Extreme Prostration

One of the great remedies for typhoid debility.

Patient slides down in bed from weakness.

🔑 2. Paralytic Weakness

Lower jaw hangs down.

Tongue and sphincter ani paralyzed.

🔑 3. Typhoid State

Deep stupor with muttering.

Offensive involuntary stools while urinating.

🔑 4. Hemorrhoids

Blue, swollen, very sensitive.

Cannot bear least touch, even the sheet.

🔑 5. Mouth Ulcers

Malignant, deep ulcers with black base.

Extremely offensive breath.

🔑 6. Recto-vesical weakness

Urination causes stool.

Stool during passing flatus or urination.

🔑 7. Extreme sensitivity

Genitals and anus very sensitive to touched
