DR. B.K. BOSE
Born : 1879
Place : Bengal
Dr. Bijoy kumar Bose, the great student of immortal Kent.
His father was an additional judge hence making him come from a respectable family, luxurious life and elated environment.
It was the period when the Indian nationalism was flaring itself like a wild fire against foreign domination. The undivided Bengal was the seat of the greatest agitation and political unrest.
British Government wanted to debase the independent spirit of Bengal and so the conspiracy of partition of Bengal was hatched . B.K. Bose joined the anti-British movement wholeheartedly considering it to be his personal war.
The boy whom the family wanted to become an I. C. S, became a rebel and under ground terrorist, an absconder.
To avoid getting arrest, to learn the advanced techniques of manufacturing hand grenades and for acquiring arms for struggle he fled to France with great difficulties.
The British Government pressed the French Govt for his arrest making him leave France with the help of some local Indians and french sympathizers of Indian freedom movement.
His next destination was U. S. A, but his reason for visiting USA was unsatisfactory to the officials, so to avoid getting suspicious he took admission into NEWYORK HOMEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE AND FLOWER HOSPITAL as a cover. But the place had no utility for his main objective.
He Shifted to Ann Arbor, and entered the university of Michigan. There he spent two years and came in contact with Dr. Dewey, Smith, etc.
Dewey directed him to J. T. Kent in Hering Medical College.
It was Dr. Kent who transformed this rebel into a Homeopath, the political agitator and worker became a humanist, a physician.
He got into Kansas City University and received his master’s degree and also Diploma in Osteopathy.
Dr. B. K. Bose , M.D. , D . O . , started his practice in calcutta, later served at calcutta Homeopathic Medical College till his last breath.
All his life he fought as an underground terrorist against British empire and as a practitioner of a non- recognized Homeopathic system against the state and central government.
The Nature shall rise and say,
Here was a man.
Like him I shall not see again.
