Definition –Â Insomnia is a common sleep disorder characterized by difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, or both, despite adequate opportunities to sleep.
Types –Â
1. Acute Insomnia: Short-term insomnia lasting less than 3 months, often triggered by stress, travel, or illness.
2. Chronic Insomnia: Long-term insomnia lasting 3 months or more, often associated with underlying medical or mental health conditions.
3. Comorbid Insomnia: Insomnia occurring alongside other medical or mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, or chronic pain.
4. Onset Insomnia: Insomnia that begins suddenly, often in response to a specific event or stressor.
5. Maintenance Insomnia: Sleeplessness that persists over time, often due to underlying factors such as poor sleep habits or environmental factors.

Homoeopathic Remedies –Â
1. Aconite – Restlessness , excitement , anguish , fear of death , especially useful after chill , shock , fright , operation, any illness that comes in night , aconite will give peace and sleep
2. Chamomilla – Sleepy but cannot sleep , restless due to pain , so violent that he cannot keep still . As soon as bed time comes , is wide awake especially at early night
3. Calcarea carb – Sleepless from many thoughts crowding , the same disagreeable idea always rouses the sick as often as they fall into a light sleep
4. Coffea – Sleeplessness from sudden emotions , pleasant surprise , exciting or bad news . Unusual activity of mind and body , full of ideas.
5. Pulsatilla – Sleepless from orgasm of blood , after late supper or eating too much , from ideas crowding in mind.
