Fear and Homeopathy

FEAR is probably the most prolific and predominant human emotion.

FEAR, the sensation, in its various forms and degrees, is the psychological component of response to threat.

The threat may be to the person, endangering life or limb; it may be a threat to the pocket, presaging financial loss or ruin ; it may be a threat to prestige, involving damage to reputation or social disgrace.

1.FEAR OF DEATH – The remedies which hold the threat of death in the symptoms are :

ACONITUM – The very face of Aconite expresses FEAR. It has not only the fear of death, but it predicts the very hour of death.

ARSENICUM – The patient is so sure he is going to die that he refuses both medicine and food.

ARNICA – Fears being stuck by those coming towards him ; fears even the possibility of being touched.

GELSEMIUM – When the sick person becomes utterly low in mind and weak in body that the fear of death is readily noticeable.

2. FEAR OF THE DARK – It is essentially fear of the unknown. Frequently seen in sensitive children’s.

CALCAREA CARBONICA – Children’s are desirous of company, noises heard in the dark.

CANABIS INDICA – Subjects with all their perception, and emotions with horrors of darkness.

CAMPHORA – Patients particularly scared of everything nearby in the dark.

MEDORRHINUM – Plethora of fears, acute fear of dark.

STRAMONIUM – There is intense fear in the dark and a desire for a dim light in the bedroom at night.

3. FEAR OF FAILURE – This tormenting emotion does not denote any lack of ability; rather does it derive from a basal lack of confidence.

ANACARDIUM – Complete lack of confidence. Sudden loss of memory.

LYCOPODIUM – Perfectionist, fearful of new role lest he fails to succeed, lacks self-confidence.

PULSATILLA – Anxious to please, is scared lest she fails to do so.

4. FEAR OF SOMEONE BEHIND.
– LACHESIS.

5. FEAR OF KNIVES.
– ARSENICUM ALBUM
– NUX VOMICA
– COFFEA

6. FEAR WHICH PERSIST.
– OPIUM.
