Egyptian system of medicine is the oldest known medicine in the history of humanity. They developed an organized method of medical education for physicians and systemic method of treatment. They identified a lot of factors associated with the disease.

IMHOTEP was considered to be the god of medicine on Egyptian culture. HORUS was considered as the god of health. The physicians were trained in the temple of IMHOTEP and they were considered as public servant, they were paid by government. They also found vaccine against small pox. They discovered mosquito can cause many diseases. They only associated plague with rats. They had unique system of public hygiene and underground drainage system.
